Gold bracelets seized from air passenger

Customs officials at the Tiruchi international airport seized three gold bracelets which were allegedly smuggled by an air passenger.

The passenger Meenakshisundaram (52) arrived in Tiruchi in the late hours on Monday night from Kuala Lumpur by an Air Asia flight. The Customs officials detained Meenakshisundaram and found three gold bracelets allegedly being smuggled by him. One of them was kept in the inner garment to avoid detection. The Customs officials seized the gold bracelets weighing 762 grams estimated at Rs. 19 lakh.
