Collector K. Rajamani hoisted national flag at a simple but majestic function to mark the 70th Republic Day celebrations held at Armed Reserve ground. Accompanied by Superintendent of Police Ziaul Haq, he inspected the Guard of Honour of Armed Reserve police. He then honoured freedom fighters and their family members by presenting them with shawls.
A total of 93 freedom fighters were honoured. Medals and appreciation certificates were presented to the police. A total of 110 police personnel received medals. M.H. Ashraf of Ayisha hospital was honoured for receiving a medal from the President. Later, the Collector distributed welfare assistance to 46 beneficiaries.

Corporation Commissioner N. Ravichandran hoisted the national flag at a function held at the Corporation Office. Besides presenting appreciation certificates to civic body officials, he handed over the certificate for nominating M.A. Aleem, former Vice-Principal of K.A.P. Viswanatham Medical College as brand ambassador of Tiruchi Corporation for clean Tiruchi initiatives.
Mr. Ravichandran also placed a wreath at the Gandhi Asthi Mandapam near the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital.
