The 38{+t}{+h}edition of FLAG recruitment drive, a joint initiative of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the EmployabilityBridge, received good response from engineering students of the region.
As many as nine companies from manufacturing, infrastructure development, Information Technology, Information Technology Enabled Service (ITES) such as Velmurugan Heavy Engineering, Barry Wehmiller, Lakhotia, Swarna Pragati Housing and IT companies such as HCL, OneGlobe, Ziffty, Stayzilla, and Hindustan Consultancy Technologies participated in the drive held at Shivani College of Engineering Technology near here.
More than 500 prospective students from various parts of the State presented before the recruiters with their academic certificates and credentials. Of them, 120 students were given offer letters.

Emmanuel Justus, Chief Executive Officer, EmployabilityBridge, said the programme (FLAG) was aimed at bringing the employers to the doorsteps of students with openings for various positions.
It was the 11th programme during the current academic year. It was aimed at bringing industry and institutions closer to inform the later on type of human resource requirements. The FLAG model had broken the barrier in corporate reaching the students from smaller towns and cities.
The data showed that students hired from non-metros through FLAG worked to the company long and it reduced the attrition level.

Inaugurating the programme, R.A. Krishnakumar, Chairman, CII, Tiruchi zone, said that CII had been taking steps to add value to the education system through various initiatives. And with this initiative, the CII felt that it had been one of the effective tools in bringing the students to a system. The CII would work towards bringing more industries to showcase the availability of skill full resource in and around Tiruchi to the industry leaders.
