A one-day painting exhibition was held at the Government Museum in the city on Monday. Organised by Eera Nilam Educational and Charitable Trust, the exhibition features a total of 48 paintings by N. Tamizharasan on nature themes.
The exhibition was open for the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The main theme was on forest cover, presented in the form of a story that develops along a series of paintings. “Trees are like lungs of the world, and we have embarked on a journey to spread awareness using the paintings,” said Mr. Tamizharasan.

The freelance artist, who graduated from Government Fine Arts College, has been painting for more than two decades. For the past five years, he has been displaying his works in the month of January and February with an aim to create environmental awareness. Each year, a different theme surrounding eco-conservation is chosen, he says.
The paintings have been made using acrylic colours and different techniques such as brush strokes, finger strokes and palette knife strokes.
“The public must be aware of the cause and effects of destroying the nature,” said Mr. Tamizharasan.

The exhibition that was organised in Tiruchi is part of a series of exhibitions being organised by the Trust across the state from January 1 to March 1.
