EVMs despatched to Assembly segments

2,434 controlling units and 4,868 ballot units of the EVMs were allotted to the six Assembly segments

Electronic voting machines (EVMs), which are to be used for polling in the Lok Sabha election on April 24, were sent to the respective Assembly segments in the district on Wednesday.

As many as 2,434 controlling units and 4,868 ballot units of the EVMs were allotted to the six Assembly segments in the district through a computerised randomisation exercise on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the EVMs were despatched to the respective Assembly segments under the supervision of Harendra Nath Bora, General Observer, and Jayashree Muralidharan, District Collector and Returning Officer, and representatives of political parties.

Ballot papers with the names of the candidates would be fixed in the EVMs at the respective Assembly constituencies in the presence of representatives of political parties, an official release said.
