Encourage reading habit in children: Cheran

Film director Cheran on Sunday asked the parents to imbibe newspaper reading habit among their children.

Delivering chief guest address at the Readers’ Festival of The Hindu (Tamil) at Shrimathi Indira Gandhi College for Women here, he said they must involve their children while reading newspapers daily. It would gradually make them to read newspapers on their own.

Moreover, the habit would surely make them informed persons and knowledgeable persons than many others.

The Hindu in creating knowledge community, Mr. Cheran said the newspaper would invariably scintillate the readers daily. They felt that it was giving fresh energy to start their daily routine. The schools and colleges should impress upon the students to subscribe to
The Hindu .

It would ultimately create a knowledgeable society and responsible citizens.

A large number of readers from Tiruchi, Karur, Perambalur, Ariyalur, and Pudukottai districts participated in the function.
