Collector K.S. Palanisamy on Monday released the draft list of socio, economic, and caste census. District Revenue Officer K.Dharpagaraj received the first copy. It has covered 404 village panchayats, three municipalities, 16 town panchayats, and Tiruchirapalli City Corporation. The draft list has information about 2,75,625 families living in town areas and 3,64,382 families in rural areas.
Mr. Palanisamy said the draft list would be kept at the respective zonal offices and wards of Tiruchirapalli City Corporation, municipal and town panchayat offices, panchayat union offices, and village panchayat offices for the reference of public.
For changes and objections, people could present petitions through prescribed forms within May 17.

He said the list had information on education, employment, revenue sources, type of houses, and movable and immovable properties of citizens. However, it would not have information related to caste.
