Cracker shops in Thanjavur eye a sparkling business

Gift packs could be purchased at a price range between Rs.400 and Rs.1,215

Sale of crackers is set to pick up in Thanjavur with private shops being opened at Keelavasal and Medical college road apart from the ones opened by co-operative institutions.

Thanjavur District State Government Employees Consumer Co-operative store has opened a shop at the collectorate complex. Gift packs with all types of crackers could be purchased in a price range between Rs.400 and Rs.1,215.

The gift items are named ‘Apoorva’, ‘Poornima’, ‘wonder gifts’, and ‘Dino 40’.

On crackers, a pack of 100 is priced at Rs. 70; 200 at Rs. 120; 300 at Rs.205; 1,000 at Rs.595; and 5,000 at Rs.2, 700. There are many fancy items including ‘Manoranjan’, ‘Shanthinika Chand’, ‘Sparkling Thunder’, ‘Sky Wheel’, ‘Super Sonica’, and ‘Colour Fantasy’.
