CPI(M) organises slogan shouting campaign

Cadre of the CPI (M) raised slogans urging the Centre to provide 10 per cent reservation to the Muslims in education and job opportunities as recommended by Ranganath Misra Commission.

Communist Party of India (Marxist) organised a slogan shouting campaign in the city on Wednesday evening urging the Centre and the State government to implement the Ranganath Misra Commission recommendations.

Cadre of the CPI (M) raised slogans urging the Centre to provide 10 per cent reservation to the Muslims in education and job opportunities as recommended by Ranganath Misra Commission, provision of adequate representation for the Muslims in the recruitment boards of central reserve forces, extension of liberal bank loans, and other assistance to Muslims involved in self employment ventures.

They also demanded adequate representation for Muslims in the Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, and State police force.

G. Ramakrishnan, State secretary of the CPI (M), launched the campaign at Azhwarthope. Kovi Vetriselvan, city secretary of the party, presided over the campaign. S. Sridhar, secretary of the district unit of the party, spoke.
