CPI seeks end to Woraiyur water crisis

Cadre of the Communist Party of India (CPI) staged a demonstration here on Sunday demanding necessary steps by the authorities concerned to solve the frequent drinking water shortage at Woraiyur.

The over hour-long protest held at Kura Theru Junction was led by the party’s city council member and former corporation councillor, V. Pushpam. CPI city secretary K. Suresh took part. The agitators also demanded well-regulated supply of drinking water to all the corporation wards and immediate commissioning of the newly constructed overhead water tanks built across the city.
