Case against AIADMK candidate

The Lalgudi police have registered a case against N.R. Sivapathi, the AIADMK candidate of Perambalur parliamentary constituency, for having violated the model code of conduct.

Two more AIADMK functionaries have been named as accused along with Mr. Sivapathi in the case that was booked on a complaint preferred by P. Gunasekaran, the Village Administrative Officer of L. Abhishegapuram. The case was booked after crackers were bursted negligently creating nuisance after the expiry of the campaign deadline to welcome the AIADMK candidate at Lalgudi on Wednesday night, said police sources. The case was booked under IPC sections 286 (Negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance) and 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant).
