Campaign to end violence against women launched

The Women Advocates’ Association, Tiruchi in association with Committee Against Sexual Harassment of Srimad Andavan Arts and Science College launched a campaign here on Tuesday to end violence against women and children.

The campaign, launched on the occasion of International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women, was inaugurated by N. Uma Maheswari, Principal District Judge (in charge), Tiruchi, on the District Court premises here. Association president T. Jayanthi Ranee, Tiruchi Bar Association members, and students of Srimad Andavan Arts and Science College participated.

The campaigns would be conducted at prominent public places, including Central Bus Stand, Gandhi Market, Chathram bus stand, and N.S.B. Road besides at BSNL office and Government Hospital area till December 9.
