A private school bus met with an accident near Ramji Nagar on the city’s outskirts on Tuesday causing minor injuries to some of the students on board the vehicle.
The vehicle carrying a group of around 40 students was on its way to a private middle school at Muthukulam when the accident occurred. Police sources said even as the bus was proceeding on Muthukulam – Paaganur Road, the driver suddenly lost control and the vehicle veered towards one end. The vehicle plunged into a roadside ditch with its wheels getting stuck.
Around 16 students suffered minor injuries. The injured were taken to Tiruchi Government Hospital for treatment. The Ramji Nagar police have registered a case.
