Health Minister V.S.Vijay holds review meet on dengue

A biometric attendance marking system to monitor duty hours of doctors, paramedical and housekeeping staff was launched by Health Minster V.S.Vijay at Srirangam Government Hospital and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital here on Monday.

The Health Minister who held a review meeting on dengue prevention and control measures, inspected ward 500, earmarked for treatment of beneficiaries of the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme, at both hospitals. He also met patients admitted at the special dengue ward at the medical college hospital.

At K.A.P. Viswanatham Government Medical College, Dr.Vijay released a poster on hygienic practices to be undertaken by eateries to prevent dengue. Later, he flagged off a public awareness rally taken out by medical college students, nurses and health department workers.

Directors of public health, medical services, medical education, members of legislative assembly and members of parliament were present. Pankaj Kumar Bansal, monitoring dengue officer, Tiruchi district dengue fever officer and Collector Jayashree Muralidharan presided.
