Implementation of Quality Circles was certain to help in meeting expectations of customers and market demand. When implemented in a true spirit, Quality Circle movement promotes participative culture, builds team work, enhances knowledge and skill and taps the creative potential of employees, Mr.Gungune said, adding that in today’s uncertain economic scenario and in an era of ever-increasing input cost of raw material and resources, Quality Circle could be a perfect tool in reducing reworks and wastes and make the organisation very competitive.

Mr.Krishnan observed that Quality Circle movement has matured in BHEL starting in a small way in 1981 and growing with scientific use of data and tools.

Implementation of solutions, he said, should be backed by a good amount of data and analysis with deployment of proper tools for sustaining the benefit. S.R.Govindarajan, Additional General Manager, Quality Assurance & Business Excellence, BHEL, Tiruchi; and D.Sheshadri, Additional General Manager, Corporate Quality Assurance, BHEL, Hyderabad, also spoke at the valedictory session.
