ADGP holds discussions with Tiruchi Central Prison officials

His visit comes in the wake of seizure of cell phones and cash from inmates last month

Additional Director General of Police, Prisons, J.K. Tripathi, visited Tiruchi Central Prison on Thursday for annual inspection. Official sources termed the visit as routine.

Mr. Tripathi held discussions with R. Duraisamy, DIG of Prisons (Tiruchi Range), and other senior officials.

Sources said enforcement of strict monitoring to prevent entry of mobile phones into prisons and effective coordination with the police department for escorting undertrials to courts and back were among the topics of discussion.

The visit by Mr. Tripathi to Tiruchi Central Prison comes in the wake of seizure of cell phones and cash from inmates of the prison during a check last month.
