Three students of St. Joseph's Anglo Indian Girls Higher Secondary School in the city did their institution proud by bagging the State second and third ranks in the Anglo-Indian stream in the SSLC examinations, the results of which were declared on Wednesday.
B. Abinaya who scored 482 marks with a centum in mathematics was ranked second in the State, while her batch mates S. Shruthi Shivani and R. Pavithra Meera were ranked third in the State securing 481 marks each. Shruthi Shivani scored centum in mathematics and science.
The State-level toppers attributed their success to the constant encouragement and motivation they received from their teachers and good coaching from the institution.

Of the four Anglo Indian schools in Tiruchi Revenue District, the Campion Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Tiruchi, St. Joseph's Anglo Indian Girls Higher Secondary School, Tiruchi and Railway Mixed Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Ponmalai recorded 100 % pass percentage. The pass percentage of St. John's Vestry Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Tiruchi was 96.43.
Education Department authorities here said a total number of 565 students including 312 boys from the four Anglo Indian Schools took the examination of which 560 students emerged successful.
The overall pass percentage in the Anglo-Indian stream this year was 99.12; while it was 97.81 in 2009. The pass percentage of boys in this stream was 98.72, while it was 99.60 in the case of girls.

The authorities said 55 students in the Anglo-Indian stream scored centum in mathematics, while eight students scored centum in science.
