Tiruchi platform reopened for train traffic

The platform No.1 at Tiruchi Junction, which remained closed for the past few months for laying of cement concrete apron was reopened on Friday for train traffic. The Tiruchi-Howrah by-weekly express was the first train to leave from the renovated platform at 4 p.m.

Tiruchi Railway Division has taken up the relaying of the concrete apron at a cost of Rs.50 lakh and the works commenced on February 8.

The platform has been provided with 600 metre apron and this will ensure easy cleaning and smooth train operations, a press release of M. K. Gopinath, Public Relations Officer, Tiruchi Railway Division, issued here said.
