TIRUCHI: A large number of devotees pulled the temple car at Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy temple on the occasion of ‘Thai thaer’ festival on Wednesday.

This is one of the important annual festivals at the temple when Namperumal is taken out in procession. On Thursday, the idol of Namperumal was brought from Kannadi arai and reached the ‘Thai thaer’ mandapam at 4 a.m. After special pooja, devotees pulled the temple car at about 6 a.m. raising holy slogans in glory of Sri Ranganathar. The car was pulled through the four Uthira streets and brought to rest about a couple of hours later.
