Sales target set for Co-optex

A sales target of Rs.60 lakh has been set for Co-optex in the district for the current year of 2010-11, stated Collector C.Munianathan.

He was speaking at the function to inaugurate the Deepavali season discount sale here on Tuesday. Of the target set, Rs.33 lakh is set against the target for the festive-season sale during Deepavali.

Fabrics and sarees of varied make, hues and designs for people from diverse backgrounds has been stacked up for the festive season, the Collector observed inaugurating the sale. Improvised silk sarees sourced from Kancheepuram, Arani, Salem, and Coimbatore are in store for sale.

The sale comes with discounts of 20 per cent and 30 per cent. Additionally, interest-free instalment purchase is available to encourage people's shopping aspirations, Mr.Munianathan stated. Of the social responsibility envisaged in a Co-optex purchase, the Collector urged people to lend that lift for cottage industry constituted by handloom weavers.

The sale that comes with discounts of 20 per cent and 30 per cent for the festive season, could be availed on all days including holidays. The stores would function on all days till the end of the festive season.

N.Sukumar, Revenue Divisional Officer P.Boopathy, Regional Manager, Co-optex, Cuddalore were among those present.
