Remand prisoner dies in Govt. Hospital

A remand prisoner in Tiruchi Central Prison who was admitted to the Mahatma Gandhi Government Hospital here a few days ago died at the hospital on Saturday night.

The inmate A. Ravichandran (53), a resident of Tiruvanaikoil, was arrested on land grabbing charge and a cheating case booked against by the City Crime Branch.

He was admitted to the Government Hospital due to his poor physical health on August 31 when he was remanded. He was shifted to the T.R. ward where he died on Saturday night, the police said. The post mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to his son. The Government Hospital police station have registered a case.
