The verdict by the Tamil Nadu electorate will have an impact on decisions to unseat the Congress from the Centre for its failure in various fronts especially in containing the soaring prices. The Centre's wrong policy and ill-planning had resulted in the present-day corrupt politics, observed Rajnath Singh, former president of Bharatiya Janata Party.
Addressing an election meeting here on Thursday, Mr. Rajnath Singh said that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government in the State had failed to control the rise in prices. He questioned the propriety of the DMK for not quitting the Central cabinet on the grounds of failure to contain the prices, although it had threatened to withdraw the support following a row with the Congress over seat-sharing issues.
Pointing out that the DMK and Congress had joined hands only under compelling grounds, he appealed to the voters to fight against corruption.
