The new Kendriya Vidyalaya, sanctioned for Perambalur, would start functioning soon from a temporary building at Madanagopalapuram in Perambalur town.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya would function from the building where the Bharathidasan University College was functioning, also on a temporary basis earlier, according to Collector M.Vijayakumar.
Mr.Vijayakumar, who inspected the building on Tuesday, said that the Kendriya Vidyalaya would start functioning this academic year itself. It was likely to have classes I to V and admissions was expected to start soon, he told

The Collector instructed the officials to refurbish the building and provide power and adequate drinking water supply to the premises. Revenue Divisional Officer S. Balusamy and Perambalur Municipal Commissioner Ashok Kumar were present.
The district administration has already allotted and transferred a 10-acre site in Sengunam for the new school to the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sankathan. The Sankathan would construct buildings for the school at this permanent site.
