Transport Minister K.N.Nehru on Sunday distributed relief of Rs.2,000 cash, 10 kg of rice, cooking vessels, dhoties and sarees to 21 families whose huts were destroyed in a fire accident at Khiledhar Street in Tiruchi city on Saturday.
A cash assistance of Rs.10,000 to each of these families was given, which was contributed by Sevai, an NGO.
Mahesan Kasirajan, Collector, S.Sujatha, Mayor, Anbil Periasamy, MLA, M.Anbazhagan, Deputy Mayor, and C.A.Raman, District Revenue Officer, were present.
