Basha was a close aide of former Telecom Minister and an accused in the 2G scam A. Raja.

Sadiq Basha, a close aide of former Telecom Minister and an accused in the 2G scam A. Raja, was actually murdered, said 24-year-old K. Prabhakaran, a resident of Udayarpalayam taluk in Ariyalur district, on Tuesday.

While admitting his “complicity” in the case, Prabhakaran alleged that a senior police officer of the State and a relative of a prominent politician were involved in the crime. He further alleged that the murder took place in Sadiq Basha’s office.
