Elementary School teachers urge government to fill vacancies

The Tiruchi district unit of the Tamil Nadu Elementary School Teachers Federation urged the government to fill up the vacancies of elementary school teachers in several parts of Tiruchi district. A resolution was passed in this regard at the general body meeting of the Tiruchi branch of the federation held here on Sunday under the chairmanship of J. Albert Dass, president of the federation.

The meeting requested the government to appoint three teachers for 70 students in the Government aided elementary schools in the State as per the orders issued for government elementary schools. A resolution requested the government to give permission for the panchayat and municipal schools, as well as government aided schools to start nursery schools.

A resolution requested the government to consider the demands of the elementary school teachers federation on promotion and redress the grievances of the teachers, according to G. Murali, district secretary of the federation.
