Tiruchi corporation is set to come out with outcome budgets every year from 2013-14 onwards. This is the first time that the civic body would be coming out with such an assessment.
The annual outcome budgets would assess the implementation and the impact of the annual budgets of the corporation not only in terms of physical and financial achievements, but also in terms of the outcome in various aspects and sectors such as health, sanitation and town planning, Corporation Commissioner V.P.Thandapani told The Hindu on Tuesday.
The commissioner indicated that the outcome budgets would be brought out along with the regular annual budget of the corporation every year henceforth.

On Tuesday, senior officials of the corporation attended an orientation training on the preparation of the outcome budget conducted by financial experts from Premier Academy under the instructions of the Commissioner of Municipal Administration.
Mr.Thandapani told the officials to utilise the inputs given by the experts to assess the programmes outlined in the corporation budget for the current year.
The assessment would help in identifying the projects that benefit the residents most and make appropriate financial allocations in the coming years.

Similarly, unutilised funds under different heads could also be put to use for priority works.
It was also essential to get the feedback of the residents while assessing the programmes, he said.
City engineers S.Raja Mohamed, executive engineers R.Chandran and S.Arunachalam, assistant commissioners, and other officials attended the meeting.
The training was conducted by Thomas, Nagarajan and Kathirvel of Premier Academy.
