To improve the chances of making students as employable

C. Thiruchelvam, Registrar, Bharathidasan University, on Wednesday, advocated the need for acquiring interpersonal and vocational skills so as to improve the chances of making students as employable.

Inaugurating the second batch of Bachelor of Vocational programmes at DDU-KAUSHAL Centre at Bhrathidasan University, he said that though academic performance was still holding the key in deciding the future of students, they could outsmart others, if they possessed interpersonal and vocational skills.

Recollecting the programmes offered by the State and Central governments on vocational training, Mr. Thiruchelvam said the vocational courses would induce them to become entrepreneurs. Instead of job seekers, the courses might make them job providers. Hence, the students must explore the opportunities for acquiring vocational skills.
