J. Navalan (50), Tiruvarur district secretary of the Tamil Nadu Vivasaya Thozhilalar Sangam, affiliated to the Communist Party of India (Marxist), was hacked to death at Kotur near Peralam on Wednesday night.
Mr.Navalan was returning after attending a party meeting. Police doubt that the murder may be sequel to a group clash at Thandanthoppu near Nannilam in September last.
