For the past 10 days, youngsters had been sweating it out at the preparatory camp for the State youth basketball championship here.
The camp, which concluded here on Sunday, saw 15 probables each in the boys and girls sections putting in their best efforts to book a place in the Tiruchi district team for the State championship to be held at Erode from Tuesday.
The Tiruchi district boys and girls teams will be selected on Monday.

M.Rama Subramaniaraja and Bula Jane Susila were the coaches for the boys and girls camps respectively.
For the boys, the camp was conducted at Campion Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in the morning and Anna Stadium in the evening.
The girls practised at Cauvery Matriculation Higher Secondary School.

Devising strategies
“At the camp, the focus was on fine tuning the youngsters' skills and devising strategies. Practice matches were conducted to analyse the performance of the youngsters,” Mr. Rama Subramaniaraja said, making a special mention about the support from the Tiruchi District Basketball Association (TDBA).
“The youngsters have undergone rigorous training sessions. We expect them to give their best at the State championship,” said Thomas Gnanaraj, TDBA president.
Tamil Nadu boys and girls teams for the National Youth Basketball Championship will be chosen during the Erode championship.
National tournament in June
The National championship will be held at CARE School of Engineering here in the first week of June.
