Awareness rallies on use of public toilets

The Tiruchi Corporation with the participation of volunteers and residents, on Tuesday took out awareness rallies in the city on maintenance and proper usage of households and public toilets.

A large number of volunteers including members of Self Help Groups participated in a rally organised at Kuthupalayam in 44th ward of Golden Rock zone, Illupur Road and Kallukuzhi in 43rd ward. Assistant Commissioner Pazha. Subramanian flagged off the rallies. The participants carried banners and placards highlighting the message of cleanliness. They also distributed pamphlets to residents in order to create awareness on proper use of public toilets and individual toilets.

Similar rally was taken out at Melapudur in Ariamangalam zone. The rally went along Khajapettai, Sangiliandapuram and culminated at Keezha Pudur. Students of Corporation school, members of SHGs and others took part. K. Padmavathi, Assistant Commissioner, administered oath on avoiding open defecation.
