5,465 tonnes of Amma Cement sold in Tiruchi dist.

About 5,465 tonnes of Amma Cement has been sold in Tiruchi district so far and 1,280 tonnes of stocks was available at the outlets that were selling the cement.

Amma Cement is being sold through the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation at Subramaniapuram, Irungalur, Musiri, Thuraiyur, Thiruvanaikovil,

Thuvakudi, and Manapparai and through the Rural Development Agency at Andhanallur, Manikandam, Tiruverumbur, Marungapuri, Vaiyampatti, Lalgudi, Manachanallur, Pullampadi, Thottiyam, Thathaiyengarpet, and Uppilliyapuram in the district, an official release said.

Norms

Amma Cement is being sold at Rs. 190 a bag. Consumers building houses can get 250 bags for constructing houses up to 500 square feet; 500 bags for buildings up to 1,000 sq. ft. and 750 bags for houses up to 1,500 sq. ft.

For repairs or renovation, 10 to 100 bags can be obtained.

A buyer will have to produce the approved building plan or a certificate from village administrative officer, revenue inspector, panchayat union supervisor or road inspector concerned.

They should give an undertaking stating that they were using the cement only for their personal use.
