A 19-year-old youth was killed and his friend injured when the scooter they were travelling on skidded and rammed a bus at Karichara near Kaniyapuram here on Wednesday.
The Mangalapuram police said, Rajeev and his friend Vishnulal, 20, both residents of Karichara, were on their way to Karichara around 5 p.m. when the accident occurred.
Rajeev was killed on the spot while Vishnulal was shifted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, where his condition was stated to be out of danger.

The two were reportedly overtaking the bus when the two-wheeler skidded and rammed the bus, the police said.
The Mangalapuram police have registered a case and are investigating.
