The Kazhakuttam police have registered a case of unnatural death and are inquiring with her friends and relatives to find out the reason behind the extreme step. The police said they are investigating whether she was undergoing treatment for stress as claimed by her husband.

According to sources in the city Corporation, the deceased was very active in her work as a civic body representative besides carrying out party-related work as vice-president and State committee member of the DYFI. Ms. Sangeetha, a resident of Thripathapuram at Attipra, moved to Kayamkulam after she got married.
