Verification ordered

The Vigilance Director has ordered a quick verification investigation into a complaint by V.S. Sivankutty, MLA, alleging corruption in the Suchitwa Mission’s purchase of a mobile incinerator at a cost of Rs.2.19 crore. In a press release here on Friday, Mr. Sivankutty said that the incinerator, which was bought at a huge cost and with much fanfare, was now lying unused in the Kottakkal municipality in Malappuram.

He said that it was bought without considering the huge cost involved in its day-to-day running.
