British High Commissioner to India Sir Dominic Asquith said here on Thursday that the UK was committed to working with India to unlock the full potential of the two countries in science and innovation.
Mr. Asquith who visited the Technopark campus here said, “By combining our best minds, our brightest innovators and our most forward-thinking institutions, we can deliver high-skilled jobs and economic growth in both countries.”
He reviewed a new nanotechnology product developed by Technopark- based Industron Nanotechnology Pvt. Ltd under an India-U.K. academic–industry research and innovation partnership program.

The product named Nanoguru is a surface characterisation tool that finds application in industrial manufacturing and quality control.
The company has tied up with the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram and the Royal Academy of Engineering, U.K. to develop learning modules for engineering students.

The project is financed by the Newton- Bhabha Fund.
Prof.V. Ramakrishnan, Director, IISER said the joint project was aimed at using laboratory research for wider societal applications.
S.A.Syed Asif, Director, R&D, Industron, Joy Mitra, Associate Professor, IISER and Chintan Bhatt, Manager, Industron Nanotechnology Pvt Ltd were among those present.
