Two youths killed in bike collision

Two youngsters were killed, one on the spot and another a few hours later at the Government Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram after the motorbike they were travelling on collided with another bike and one of them fell under an oncoming tipper lorry near Karakulam here on Tuesday.

The Aruvikkara police, identifying the deceased as Vishnu, 19, of Aduppukootanpara near Peroorkada, and Nidhin Sathish, 21, of Aruvikkara, said the two were on their way to Nedumangad around 7.30 a.m. on Tuesday when the bike, reportedly driven by Nidhin, collided with another bike, driven by one Aravind of Nedumangad near Keltron Junction at Karakulam. Vishnu was caught under a tipper lorry that was coming from the opposite side. He was crushed to death on the spot, while Nidhin, who sustained serious head injuries in the fall, breathed his last around 1 p.m. Aravind, too sustained injuries but was stated to be out of danger.
