Two injured in BJP-CPI(M) clash

Case against four BJP members; incident at Thiruvallam

Two persons were injured on Sunday evening in a clash between BJP and CPI(M) workers at Thiruvallam. Shaji (50), a CPI(M) member, has been admitted to the Government Medical College here, and a female member of the BJP was admitted to a private hospital.

Thiruvallam police have registered a case against four BJP members in connection with the incident. They have been identified as Vishnu, Mithun Krishna, Vysakh, and Sunil. The accused are absconding, the police said.

The clash, which took place at Madathunada, Thiruvallam, was preceded by a similar incident between the two groups at Thiruvallam Junction in the afternoon, and near Nemom the previous day, according to the police.
