Tamil Nadu accident victims laid to rest

The entire village of Pallithura near Vizhinjam gathered on the premises of the old church on the Pallithura coast on Wednesday evening to bid farewell to the five persons from the region, who were killed in an accident near Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.

The bodies of Siluvadima, 40; his wife Suma, 33; their daughter Divya, 16; family friend Christadima, 50; and the driver of the vehicle, Jose were brought to Pallithura around 6.15 p.m. and were buried in the cemetery of the church.

While the bodies of Christadima and Jose were buried separately, those of Siluvadima, Suma, and Divya were buried in a single grave.

Eight others, including the sole surviving member of Siluvadima’s family, his younger daughter Christina, were injured in the accident, which occurred near Tirunelveli around 5 p.m. on Tuesday when the families of Siluvadima and John Paul were on their way back to Thiruvananthapuram after participating in a church festival at Thenkasi.
