Students to visit literary, cultural leaders

Children’s Day on Thursday will see the General Education Department kick-start a campaign ‘Vidyalayam Pratibhakalilekku’ in which groups of students and their teachers will visit people living nearby who have made a name for themselves in the areas of science, arts, sports, and literature and honour them.

At 8 a.m. on Thursday, students of Government Higher Secondary School, Peroorkada, in the company of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Minister for General Education C. Ravindranath, will visit historian K.N. Panikkar at his residence.

At 12.30 p.m., students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Pattom, and Mr. Ravindranath will visit poet Sugathakumari and honour her.

General Education Secretary A. Shajahan will accompany students of Medical College Higher Secondary School to meet actor Madhu, a pressnote said here.
