Sree Krishna Jayanthi celebrated

A colourful procession of children dressed as epic characters Krishna and Radha marked the Sree Krishna Jayanthi celebrations in the city on Saturday.

K. Muraleedaran, MLA, inaugurated the procession organised by Balagokulam. Processions from various points in the city came together to form a single procession at Palayam. It ended in front of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple. Balagokulam State general secretary V. Harikumar spoke.

Children in glittering robes and ornate headgear depicting various stages of Krishna’s life, accompanied by ‘chendamelam,’ took part in the procession.

Colourful and decorative floats depicting scenes from Krishna’s life were taken out. After the procession, the children were felicitated.

At the Sri Sathya Sai Orphanage Trust, Saigramam, former Union Minister O. Rajagopal inaugurated the celebrations. A special puja was held and a procession was taken out.
