SEC nod must for ads

Advertisements placed in the media by candidates contesting the local government elections should be cleared by the State Election Commission.

A commission release issued here on Wednesday said district media relations committees would clear regional advertisements and the State media relations committee would scrutinise advertisements for television channels and those appearing in different editions of newspapers.

Details of the form to be submitted for securing clearance could be accessed from the commission website.
