The shipment of nuclear reactor for the second phase of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP) will start in 2017, a Russian Cultural Centre press release on Friday said, quoting Igor Kotov, CEO of AEM-Technologies, here on Friday.

“Supply contract has been signed and we have already received the advance payment,” the press release quoted him as saying. According to Mr. Kotov, AEM-Technologies will produce a set of steam generators for the third power unit of Kudankulam NPP and the reactor vessel will be manufactured by Izhorskie Zavody (IZHZ). A set of steam generators and the reactor vessel for the fourth unit would be produced by AEM-Technologies, he added.

The release said the AEM-Technologies Company was created in 2007 as a branch of Atomenergomash. The engineering company also produces equipment for nuclear industry, thermal power and gas and oil chemistry. Atomenergomash, a part of SC Rosatom, was created in 2006 to diversify the Russian market for nuclear engineering and machinery construction.
