No loss of life or damage to property was reported. Adequate arrangements had been made to provide food for the families residing in the relief camps, she told The Hindu .

Valiathura councillor Tony Oliver said that four houses at Fathima Matha Road, Azhivilakam and Kuzhivilakam were damaged as huge waves lashed the coast. He said coastal erosion could be addressed temporarily by placing granite boulders on the coast.
