Pattom KV student brings glory to State

B. Arjun of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, has brought laurels to the city by emerging second in the CBSE class 12 examinations.

B. Arjun of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, has brought laurels to the city by emerging second in the Central Board of Secondary Education class 12 examinations, the results of which were announced on Monday. Arjun scored 495 in the science stream, thus sharing the second rank with Mythili Mishra of Amity School, Noida.

‘Pleasant surprise’

“The results came as a surprise to me. I put in a lot of effort, and was expecting around 95 per cent. I devoted three hours to studies, but made sure that I was up to date,” Arjun, who is busy preparing for the entrance examinations, told

The Kowdiar resident said he was not a meticulous planner. “I take breaks between every hour of studies. I am an ardent follower of music and play the guitar,” he said.

Future plans

On his future plans, Arjun said he wanted to study computer science at the Indian Institute of Science or at the National Institute of Technology. “My first choice is the IIT. I sat for the IIT entrance but am doubtful about clearing it as the advance test of JEE was a bit tough,” he said.

His father, an ex-Navy serviceman, works with a private firm in Abu Dhabi, and his mother is an engineer.
