Pat for KITTS in UN newsletter

The Kerala Institute of Tourism and Travel Studies (KITTS) has been featured by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) in its newsletter.

A five-page article on the travel and tourism institute, established in 1988 in the State capital to impart quality education in tourism, travel and hospitality, has appeared in UNWTO Asia Pacific Newsletter Issue 45.

The issue featuring KITTS covers major events like 22nd UNWTO General Assembly where the new Secretary General of the UNWTO got elected.

In 2015 and 2017, KITTS was elected as vice president of affiliated members in the Asia Pacific Region.

The national and international affiliations, academic and training programmes, Centre of EcoTourism, Centre for Responsible Tourism, KITTS Knowledge Centre, and the two months Naturalist/Interpreter Certificate course has been detailed along with photographs in the newsletter.

“Inclusion of KITTS and the activities in the newsletter has provided opportunity to showcase the institute globally among all UNWTO member countries and organisations,’ Rajshree Ajith, Director of KITTS, said.

Learning centre

An authorised learning centre of IATA and member of the depository library and e-library of UN, KITTS has study centres at Ernakulam, Malayatoor and Thalassery.

The KITTS has 30 years of excellence in the field of sustainable tourism practices, educational and research programmes in the field of travel, tourism and hospitality sector.
