July 13, 2012 08:30 pm | Updated 08:30 pm IST - ALAPPUZHA:

The Kerala State Women’s Commission (KSWC) will make a recommendation to the government to grant pension to aged and indigent women and mothers, KSWC Chairperson K.C. Rosakutty has said.

Taking part in a mega adalat of the Commission here on Friday, she said the Commission had sought expert opinion on the issue of pension and studies were being held in this regard.

Those who had no source of income were found to be isolated and, sometimes, harassed in households in the State. The attitude of society towards such women should also change, she said. The pension scheme was aimed at resolving this.
