One killed, two injured in accident

One person was killed and two were injured when a KSRTC bus collided with a brick-laden lorry headed towards Thiruvananthapuram from Tamil Nadu on the National Highway near Pappanamcode early Tuesday.

One person was killed and two were injured when a KSRTC bus collided with a brick-laden lorry headed towards Thiruvananthapuram from Tamil Nadu on the National Highway near Pappanamcode early Tuesday.

According to the Nemom police, the lorry driver, Suresh, 40, was killed on the spot, while two others, Satyan, the KSRTC bus driver, and Sashikumar, a two-wheeler rider who were caught between the two vehicles, sustained serious injuries in the accident.

The accident occurred around 6 a.m.

While the body of Suresh was shifted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital (MCH) morgue, both Satyan and Sashikumar are battling life-threatening injuries at the MCH, the police said.
