The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) Limited has taken all possible steps to reduce the impact of voltage variation in the State, chairman M. Sivasankar has said.
Mr. Sivasankar said in a clarification here on Monday that there was no need to impose any power restrictions in the State at present. The low voltage in north and central Kerala was due to the changes in the line loadings at 400 kV level in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu owing to a fire accident at the Sharavati powerhouse in Karnataka.
Initially, there was a restriction on drawing power through the Mysuru-Areakode feeder for a few days, but this was to help Karnataka overcomen the crisis caused by the accident.

Then the power required for the State was rerouted through the Palakkad-Udumalpet line and partially through the Idukki-Udumalpet and Edamon-Thirunelveli lines.
