Expansion of Manacaud-Attukal-Chiramukku-Kalady road mooted

Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty, who is also the Nemom MLA, on Friday convened a high-level meeting to discuss a project for the conversion of the Manacaud-Attukal-Chiramukku-Kalady road into a four-lane stretch.

The 2.3-km road is being developed by including it under projects funded by the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB). A detailed project report (DPR) prepared by the Kerala Road Fund Board in connection with the road development has been submitted for KIIFB appraisal.

With the development of the road, one of the busiest in the city, traffic blocks near the Attukal Bhagavathy Temple and the Manacaud mosque will be addressed. Local residents, residents’ associations and representatives of political parties had submitted a petition to the Minister.
